**OLAP, MDX, C++ Opportunity in Ottawa**

Our client is seeking a Senior Software Developer to drive the
technical advancements of the data access components vital to one of
their major products. To be successful, the ideal candidate must
possess senior level domain knowledge and experience in accessing OLAP
and Relational data sources. Expert level knowledge and experience
using C++ is required to develop enterprise software. We are targeting
an individual with extensive experience interpreting existing
architecture and code structures of various data components. The
successful candidate will be expected to present and explain new
software development ideas/approaches regarding data access to OLAP and
relational databases to senior team members. This is a full time
opportunity within the National Capital Region to start immediately.

Primary Role:

As part of a team of 15 seasoned software programmers, the ideal
candidate will actively participate in the design and implementation of
new features and architectural changes to meet new requirements.

Sub-objectives:

(1) Analyze the scalability and performance needs of the component in a
server environment;
(2) Write functional and design specifications;
(3) Implement a testing framework and test cases for both unit tests
and integration tests;
(4) Support current and future customers of the component;
(5) Assist other members of the team in their designs; implementations
and reviews;
(6) Educate yourself on current and upcoming technologies in the areas
of multidimensional databases and analysis.

Highly desired skills:

(1) University Degree in Computer Science;
(2) Excellent C++ programming skills, familiar with Java;
(3) Experience with both Unix and Windows programming environments;
(4) Intermediate working knowledge of OLAP and ROLAP data sources
including MDX access;
(5) Working knowledge of XML, HTTP as well as some exposure to SAP
technology.
